Does this guy have the shittiest luck ever or is it just me?

This guy is just minding his own business, being a dwarf, doing the circus act he’s done 900 times already and flies off the trampoline sideways (on accident?) right into the mouth of a yawning hippo.

If that’s not “bad timing”, it is certainly atleast “inconvenient timing”.

The one thing that got me was the vet said the Hippo had a gag reflex that caused her to swallow the man.

Gag?

I don’t think it counts as “gagging” when you swallow an entire person. I think that’s called swallowing.

Like if you had a friend that said “Oh I gagged on my steak while I was eating it” or “I ate too fast and gagged”, you are pretty clear on what they meant by “gagged”. It meant they coughed and choked and spit foot everywhere. As opposed to them “Gagging on their steak” which meant they were sitting next to you at the dinner table, and put the entire steak in their mouth and swallowed it whole, while you watched in horrified-curiosity, and then patted their chest, burped and said “Oh wow, I really gagged on that one”… yea, sorta not the same thing.
