We’ve blogged previously over the entire Conan/Leno/NBC/The Tonight Show scandal that has been going on for the last month, but it looks like things are coming to a close.

To sum it all up, it looks like Jay Leno helped to engineer the hostile-re-takeover of The Tonight Show to get it back from Conan, who is leaving in two weeks. Leno also used his public comments about “leaving NBC because of how they’ve treated Conan” as a way to ride the Conan-sympathy train for public support when he takes the show back over. I also think he likely let that slip to make NBC a hair more jumpy about signing a fatter check for his new contract when he decided to commit on the back-channel.

There is apparently no brotherly love-loss between Conan and Leno; Conan recognizing that Leno has been behind much of this hostile take-over from the beginning with a monologue-snipe:
